“Design with, not for.” To design an unique solution - the community kitchen, the studio embraced human-centred design in the form of participatory design thinking. The tool kit was designed with the following purpose in mind: (1) to understand the needs of the people; (2) to involve community in the design process; (3) to build capacity and networks.

Architecture is experiential and phenomenological. In this project, we explore the possibilities of experiential design. Meaning and experiences are created through the juxtaposition of point, line, plane and volume. Design of the project is created in three-dimensional space through trial and error. In many ways, three-dimensional making is the embodiment of the Waldorf method in the design.

In this project, the studio explored the possibility of organic waste as building materials. We discover the possibility of architecture as a social enterprise, providing a massively transformative purpose. We aim to achieve the following: (1) to use food waste as a building material; (2) to create a strong material suitable for less developed country.

Nature provides us with many solutions. By taking the nature as a model, we use biomimicry to solve our problems. With air as our element, we have set a dystopian desert land context. We aim to create a conducive living environment in a supertower despite problems such as : (1) frequent duststorms; (2) insufficient electricity; (3) warm, unwelcoming climate.
